Please sign-in for the day in the foyer of B.C. Matthews Hall between 10:00 a.m. and 10:15 a.m. Upon sign-in please inform us of any alterations to your day (e.g., need to leave early). (Note that we will be requesting a cell phone number from you in the event that we need to contact you.)

Each student will be given a nametag that indicates the three labs that they will be attending for the day. Due to space, students must attend the sessions in which they are assigned in the order that they are assigned.

Teachers may attend any lab. Directions to each lab will be given to you upon sign-in. Also, the Fireplace Lounge (Lyle Hallman Institute 1656) is available for all teachers who wish to do work.

After signing in, the class will be directed to a lecture hall for the Group Welcome Session, and then escorted to their first session. The Group Welcome Session is scheduled from 10:15 – 10:45 a.m. Instructors will then call the groups out to their first lab.

At 11:00 a.m., we will be offering teachers a tour of the Department of Kinesiology’s state-of-the-art research labs. Those interested should meet in the foyer of B.C. Matthews Hall after the Group Welcome Session.

The first lab session is scheduled from 10:45 a.m. – 11:45 a.m., followed by lunch.

Lunch is from 11:45 a.m. – 12:25 p.m. Students may bring their lunch or purchase their lunch at one of the designated eateries on campus. There will not be sufficient time for students to leave campus.  Please see the Waterloo Campus Eateries sheet that describes the various options and approximate prices. Please note that the eateries accept cash only. Students should dress appropriately for the weather as they will have to walk outside to the campus eateries.  There is no food or drink permitted in any of the labs.

At 12:25 p.m. all students must meet in the Foyer of B. C. Matthews Hall. Numbers will be posted throughout the Foyer. Students should stand in front of the number for their second session (second number on nametag). The instructors will meet students and take them to the session location. At 1:30 p.m. students will again meet in the Foyer and stand in front of the number for their third and final session.

At 2:30 p.m. (the end of the day) all students will meet with their teacher in the Foyer of B.C. Matthews Hall. All buses are to pick-up students in front of B.C. Matthews Hall.

All of the Kinesiology Lab Day Instructors are current undergraduate or graduate students so please feel free to ask them any questions about Waterloo’s Kinesiology program or student life at Waterloo.

Students will also have the opportunity to leave their contact information if they would like us to send them more information about programs at the University of Waterloo. Information can also be found at www.findoutmore.uwaterloo.ca.

NOTE: In the event of inclement weather, please check the University of Waterloo website at www.uwaterloo.ca for details such as closure of the University. Closure information due to inclement weather is posted at 7:00 a.m. on the Waterloo website. Teachers may also call Catherine Archibald at 519-888-4567 ext. 32010 to check her voicemail should there be a University closure due to weather. If the University is open, Kinesiology Lab Days will be offered.
